A message to our community
In 1985, a group of alcoholics in Connecticut, created a conference, to carry the AA message of recovery, unity, and service to young people in AA. To encourage young people in AA to become actively involved in service. To acquaint members of the fellowship with all the activities available to them throughout Area II. It is this years committee’s obligation to ensure that our annual conference goes on as planned.
After two (2) years of all-virtual conferences, CSCYPAA 37 is back in-person at a new location! on November 25th-27th, 2022 at the Sheraton Hotel at Bradley Airport. Please join us in celebrating our 37th year of bringing unity, service and recovery to young people in CT. Register at CSCYPAAreg.org
About Us:
When Area 11 of AA (Connecticut) officially sponsored The Connecticut State Conference for Young People in AA, CSCYPAA (pronounced /sis·kē·pä/) was born. In 2021, our committee voted to change the name of our event from “Conference” to “Convention” to avoid any confusion with AA’s General Service Conference.
In addition to developing the program and putting on the annual Convention, the CSCYPAA Planning Committee, addition to developing the program and putting on the annual Convention, conducts outreach at local and regional YPAA events, holds events to encourage young people to participate in service, works closely with Area 11 officers, and forms meaningful connections through fellowship throughout New England. If you are interested in learning more, we encourage you to attend our monthly meeting.
New England and beyond
If you find yourself unable to attend our event, but are interested in getting involved in YPAA, annual young people’s conventions are held in states all across the country, including surrounding states in New England. The New England Conference of Young People in AA (NECYPAA) is held every year in a different New England State.

Purpose of the Committee:
Plan and carry out an annual conference to young people in AA, ever mindful of our primary purpose to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.
Encourage young people in AA to become actively involved in service, providing growth opportunities which will result in the satisfaction and rewards of seeing a commitment through from beginning to end.
Actively participate in the coordination and cooperation necessary to provide a conference, which involves all of the following:
- Learn Patience, Tolerance, Unity, Responsibility, and Unconditional Love through Service
- Learn about the Steps, Traditions, and Concepts and how to apply these tools
- Learn to place Principles above Personalities
- Learn to become willing to go to any lengths and ask for help when needed
- Experience Unity by working as a committee and making new friends
- Experience the group conscience in action

Purpose of the Conference:
Carry the AA message of Recovery, Unity, and Service to young people in AA.
Encourage young people in AA to become actively involved in service.
Acquaint members of the fellowship with all the activities available to them throughout Area 11.
